Biography

Dr. Vitalyi Igorevich Talanin was born into a Russian noble family. He received a (1) M.Sc. (2000) in Physics and Technology of Materials & Components in Electronic Technique; (2) a M.Sc. (2006) in Software Engineering; (3) a Ph.D. (2002) in Physics of Semiconductors & Dielectrics; (4) Doctor of Science Honoris Causa (2013); (5) a title of Full Professor (2012). Dr. Talanin is a Full Professor and Chief of Computer Science & Software Engineering Dept. at the Institute of Economics & Information Technologies (Zaporozhye, Ukraine). Dr. Talanin has published extensively in material science & semiconductor physics, and in software engineering (applied to a material science) and also in Russian history & genealogy (as hobbies). He has written 11 scientific monographs and above 200 scientific papers. Dr. Talanin is a Member of Editorial Board of some scientific journals. Dr. Talanin was a Member of a Program and Organizing Committees at a many International Conferences on crystallography, semiconductor physics, information technologies. Since 2018 Dr. Talanin is a Member of an International Union of Crystallography (IUCr).

Research Area

His areas of expertise include intermolecular interactions in the solid state, transport phenomena, defect structure of solids, modeling of crystal growth processes, and nanotechnology.
